2. Charge and discharge regularly

The floating charging voltage and discharge voltage in the UPS power supply for periodic charging and discharging have been debugged to the rated value when leaving the factory, and the discharge current increases with the increase of the load. Therefore, the load should be adjusted reasonably in use, such as controlling the number of electronic devices such as microcomputers. In general, the load should not exceed 60% of the rated load of ups. In this range, the battery discharge current will not be excessive discharge. Because UPS is connected with the city power for a long time, the battery will be in floating charge state for a long time in the service environment with high power supply quality and few power outage. As a result, the activity of mutual conversion between chemical energy and electric energy will be reduced, and the service life will be shortened due to accelerated aging. Therefore, the battery should be fully discharged every 2-3 months, and the discharge time can be determined according to the capacity and load of the battery. After one full load discharge, recharge for more than 8 hours according to regulations.


3. Use the communication function

At present, the vast majority of large and medium-sized ups have operability such as communication with microcomputer and program control. When the corresponding software is installed on the microcomputer and connected to UPS through serial / parallel port, the program can be used to communicate with ups. Generally, it has the functions of information inquiry, parameter setting, timing setting, automatic shutdown and alarm. Through the information query, we can obtain the input voltage, output voltage, load utilization rate, battery capacity utilization rate, internal temperature and mains frequency information; through parameter setting, we can set ups basic characteristics, battery maintenance time and battery run out alarm, etc. Through these intelligent operations, the use and management of UPS power supply and its battery are greatly facilitated.


4. Replace used/broken batteries in time

At present, the number of batteries equipped with large and medium UPS power supply ranges from 3 to 80, or even more. These individual batteries are connected by circuit to form a battery pack to meet the needs of UPS DC power supply. In the continuous operation and use of UPS, due to the differences in performance and quality, it is inevitable that the performance of individual batteries will decline and the storage capacity can not meet the requirements. When one or more batteries in the battery pack are damaged, maintenance personnel should check and test each battery to eliminate the damaged battery. When replacing new batteries, we should try our best to buy batteries of the same model from the same manufacturer. It is forbidden to mix acid proof batteries, sealed batteries and batteries of different specifications.
